SIR ALEX FERGUSON: MAN UTD LIFT PREMIER LEAGUE TROPHY……….
Sir Alex Ferguson marked his final match as manager of Manchester United at Old Trafford by lifting the Premier League trophy on behalf of his team. United beat Swansea 2-1 but had already won their 13th Premier League title and club's 20th championship on 22 April. Ferguson, 71, was given a guard of honour before the match and addressed the crowd after the final whistle.
TENNIS - NADAL CRUISES TO MADRID MASTERS TITLE………
Rafael Nadal won his fifth title in seven events and third in the Spanish capital with a 6-2 6-4 victory over Stanislas Wawrinka at the Madrid Masters. Since his return from seven months on the sidelines with injury Nadal has played seven tournaments, winning five and reaching the final of the other two.
GOLF - WOODS WINS PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP AS GARCIA IMPLODES…………
Tiger Woods won the Players Championship by two strokes over Swedish rookie David Lingmerth and Americans Jeff Maggert and Kevin Streelman at the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass on Sunday. Spaniard Garcia shared the lead on 13-under with Woods when he teed off at the short but treacherous 17th, but hit into the water twice to crash to a quadruple bogey, after the world number one had parred the famed island hole.
FEC APPROVES NEW NATIONAL AVIATION POLICY…….
The Federal Executive Council, FEC has approved a new national aviation policy to address safety issues in the industry. The approval is coming on the heels of accusations made by the Ministry of Aviation that private jet owners in the country continue to abuse the guidelines.
SENATE ACCUSES FG OF WASTING OVER 221 BILLION NAIRA ON SUGAR IMPORTATION………
The Senate has alleged that Nigeria had in three years wasted almost two hundred and twenty-nine billion naira on importation of sugar. This was just as ten thousand workers had lost their jobs due to the federal government’s policy, which grants waivers to select importers of raw sugar in the country.

American rapper, EMINEM and his publishers have sued social networking site FACEBOOK for unlawful use of a song similar to EMINEM’s UNDER THE INFLUENCE. They are asking for one hundred and fifty thousand dollars as payment for infringement.
